We were so pleased when we took a moment to compile the list of our top 10 bestselling titles of 2024. This is exactly the type of literature that we want to be supporting. It's been a pleasure to discuss these books with so many of you over the past year. And no we cannot wait to see what 2025 brings and how this list changes. But for now, let's dive in:

10. Winters in the World by Eleanor Parker

This is a beautifully observed journey through the cycle of the year in Anglo-Saxon England, exploring seasonal rituals and customs, and the profound relationship between human life and the rhythms of nature.

9. Lust for Life by Irving Stone

A classical fictional retelling of Vincent Van Gogh's life. Based on his letters to his brother Theo, the novel takes us through all the tumult, frustration and creative genius of this world changing artist.

8. Storyland by Amy Jeffs

Amy Jeffs immerses us in the mist and magic behind Britain's origin myths at the same time as centering us in the real world political and societal implications of these stories in the medieval period.

7. The Offing by Benjamin Myers

One summer following World War II a young man sets out across the countryside of the north of England where he meets a curious character who will change his life forever. A moving and subtle novel.

6. The Last Quarter of the Moon by Chi Zijian

Achingly beautiful. Ancient traditions mingle with the ever encroaching modern world. Read the story of the 20th century as told through the eyes of a female member of the Evenki tribe in north-east China.

5. Steeple Chasing by Peter Ross

Celebrating the beauty, meaning, and history of Britain's churches, emphasising that they are as much about people as place. Ross is a keen observer of the world and characters.

4. The Old Ways by Robert Macfarlane

The book that inspired Sherlock & Pages into being. A genre defining exploration of Britain's ancient paths and the secrets of its under appreciated landscapes.

3. A Month in the Country by J.L. Carr

A tender and moving meditation on nature, loss, and the curative power of art. Strangely poignant - this beautiful story seems to linger with readers for years to come. It's a real shop favourite.

2. Wintering by Catherine May

Gentle and comforting, a poignant exploration of the dark seasons of life and the eventual light of spring that follows. An encouragement to all those in need of the courage to embrace care and repair.

1. Wild Atlantic Women by Grainne Lyons
