Bringing together researchers, artists, and writers, the book traces a line from soil ecology and industrial farming practices through to food's medicinal properties and the link between gut health and the brain, making the case for regenerative approaches to agriculture and eating.

It argues that food is the connecting agent between mental, physical, and planetary health, and calls for a broad transformation of food systems.

Proceeds from the book support the Farmacy Foundation, which funds farms and education programmes focused on soil regeneration and personal health.
